Hi, I’m Varsha! 😊

I’m a paediatric and public health dietitian with over 18 years of experience in the NHS, registered with the HCPC and a member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA). I’m passionate about children’s health and wellbeing, and I love working with families to make meaningful changes that support the entire family.

My interest in nutrition began as a teenager—I had a keen interest about how food and lifestyle choices affect our health and wellbeing. I enjoyed keeping active and learning how to make balanced food choices, which naturally led me to study dietetics. It’s a career that reflects my values, I am a complete foodie and I do try and practise what I preach!

I spent five years working in Flying Start areas, supporting children and families. The family-centred approach used here—not just looking at the child but how this can impact the entire family and offering practical support—influenced the way I work and look at things. I’ve seen firsthand how empowering families in this way can lead to real, lasting change.

As a mum of twin girls, I bring both professional knowledge and lived experience to my work. I understand the everyday challenges parents face—and I’m here to offer support without judgement.

Currently, I hold a national role at Public Health Wales, where I’m leading the implementation of the National Infant Feeding Plan—drawing on my clinical and public health expertise to improve outcomes for families across the country.

I’m also proud to bring cultural awareness into my practice. Being Indian myself, I have a sound understanding of South Asian diets and traditions, and I enjoy working with families from diverse backgrounds to help them feel supported.

In addition, I’m an advanced mindfulness practitioner and a qualified Pilates teacher, which allows me to bring a more holistic perspective to my work—supporting both physical and emotional wellbeing.
